Hello BHSC families, In case you missed yesterday's post, this week is Gifted and Talented Awareness Week. This Thursday, we will hold a parent meeting for parents of high-ability students. Those parents should have received a brochure invitation. If you have not responded to the RSVP, please do so now. https://forms.gle/avaQXs3mmCYnu1mU8 The term "gifted and talented" refers to students, children, or youth who exhibit high achievement capabilities in areas like intellectual, creative, artistic, or leadership capacity, or in specific academic fields. Student with gifts and talents: - Come from all racial, ethnic, and cultural populations, as well as all socio-economic backgrounds. - Require sufficient access to appropriate learning opportunities to realize their potential. - Can have learning and processing disorders that require specialized intervention and accommodation. - Need support and guidance to develop socially and emotionally, as well as in their areas of talent.

On My Way PreK families should complete the online application for state funding as soon as possible, even if you know they won’t qualify! If you could do this before registration next week, that would be FABULOUS!! Please go to this website https://www.in.gov/fssa/carefinder/on-my-way-pre-k/ and fill out the online application asap. Click the blue box that says “click here to apply”. Kendra, our On My Way PreK rep, will be at our registration nights this Tuesday (Henryville from 5-7) and Wednesday (Borden from 5-7) for additional support/help. This is what she said below: 1.) At this time, I would HIGHLY recommend making sure you are letting parents know to PLEASE go in and apply online and make sure they hit submit! It is more critical that they SUBMIT the application then upload any documents (before submitting). 2.) DO NOT collect or have parents upload ANY of the following: - PARENT AGREEMENT - APPLICANT WORKSHEET 3.) The state will have to update these, so the ones currently online cannot be used, and if they are uploaded, parents will have to REDO them again! If you have any questions or concerns, please email lchurchill@bhsc.school and tpoe@bhsc.school. Once you’ve completed the submission, please email us as well. The subject line should be "OMWPK submission complete."

Calling all seed savers! The BES Garden Club is collecting seeds for our community seed library in the fall, and we need your help. Dry and label seeds from your flowers and garden produce with the name of the plant, any germination or growing details, the date, and your name; if you're feeling extra creative, add a funny kid-friendly joke or doodle. We hope to make seed saving a fun, community project!
